WA Winter Event Roundup: Hoppy Holid-ales From Our Brewery Partners!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year — and there are so many holiday beer events, you’ve probably had trouble keeping track of them all! To make sure you get all the best winter beer events on your calendar, PicoBrew has made a list of beer events happening in our home community of Washington state, and checked it twice to ensure you catch all the fun.
Here’s a roundup of hoppy holiday beer events you won’t want to miss from our PBN Brewery Partners in Washington!
Nov. 30 – Dec. 1: Winter Beer Fest
Forget eggnog – this can’t-miss annual event from the Washington Brewers Guild features all the holiday season’s best beers. Over 50 Washington breweries will bring their most festive offerings to Hangar 30 in Magnuson Park, where attendees and brewers alike can vote for their favorite beers and booth decorations. Put on your jingle bells and Santa hat and come sample seasonal delights from PBN partners Cash Brewing Company, Crucible Brewing, Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery, Lucky Envelope Brewing, Pike Brewing Company, Postdoc Brewing, Rooftop Brewing Company and Stoup Brewing!
Come to Lucky Envelope Brewing in Ballard for the last Sour Beer Day of 2018, with special holiday-themed brews! As it is the season of giving, they’re also giving you free photos with Santa via digital download, so bring the whole family along.
Dec. 1: 6Dogrees FUNraiser
Even your pup can get a photo with Santa at the 6Dogrees Dog Rescue Fundraiser, hosted by Bothell’s Decibel Brewery! There will also be a silent auction, with the proceeds going to rescue dogs, supported by vendors such as Gotta Have This and Glassybaby.
Dec. 2: Photos With Santa in Gig Harbor
Kick off the holiday season with Kris Kringle himself in the 7 Seas Brewing Co. taproom! Kids of all ages can get their picture taken with Santa while mom and dad enjoy a pint, and all photos are available for free digital download.
Dec. 2: Gig Harbor Night Market
Hosted by 7 Seas Brewing Co., the first-ever Gig Harbor Night Market will feature drinks, music, art and gifts from local vendors and artists, as well as a photo opportunity with Santa himself.
Dec. 2-3: Winter Sour Fest
Redmond’s Postdoc Brewing will be releasing two new sour beers for the holidays at this festive festival! Enjoy the latest installment of their L.A.B. Partner series, Blackcurrant, along with returning favorite Evans Kriek Flanders Red. Tortas will also be served from Barriga Llena Torta Mobil.
Dec. 4: Arts N’ Drafts – Holiday Gnomes
Postdoc Brewing will co-host this event with Redmond Art Works, where you can sculpt your own holiday gnome at the brewery and prepare it to be fired in the kiln that night. Beer can be purchased at the event, and sculptures can be picked up Dec. 12.
‘Tis the season for pairing seafood with festive local beers! Held at Ivar’s Acres of Clams on Pier 54 at the Seattle Waterfront, this popular beer-tasting event is back for the eighth year. Enjoy pairings from Chef Garr, including onion roasted pork poutine, mini chicken pot pies and Alaska true cod poppers, along with seasonal beer from brewery partners Bad Jimmy’s Brewing Co. and Pike Brewing Company, as well as other local favorites!
Dec. 6: BiFrost Winter Ale Release Party
Join Elysian Brewing at its Tangletown location for cheer-filled celebration of all things holidays, commemorating the annual release of BiFrost Winter Ale! Festivities include holiday karaoke, a gingerbread-house-making contest and an ugly-sweater competition, with four renditions of BiFrost on tap and food and drink specials. Donations will be accepted on behalf of Toys for Tots, and donations score an extra raffle ticket for Elysian swag.
Dec 6-7: IPA Cask-O-Rama
The annual IPA Cask-O-Rama at Beveridge Place Pub in West Seattle is celebrating its 13th year! Enjoy 18 Washington IPAs on cask from 16 local breweries, including offerings from our partners at 7 Seas Brewing Co., Pike Brewing Company and Stoup Brewing!
Dec. 7: Cask Friday – Cranberry Frost
Come try the new holiday favorite from Foggy Noggin Brewing in Bothell: the Cranberry Frost is a Strong Golden Ale with a whole pound of dried cranberries added into the cask. Make sure to show up early before they run out and you’re left with a lump of coal!
Bring the kids to Populuxe Brewing in Ballard to make some ho-ho-holiday cards! Art supplies will be provided, and Santa will be there to visit and take pictures with the whole family.
Dec. 8: 5th Annual Holidays at the Jetty
Come to North Jetty Brewing in Seaview for pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause! The Jetty team will take pictures of your whole family for free using your own devices. There will also be a range of food and gift vendors for everyone on your list, including Twisted Biscuits, Biocharm Farms, Team Hamilton: Healthy Living with Arbonne, Jacob’s Hammer – Custom Metal Work, Beach House Teas, Anna Lena’s Fudge and Lularoe Alyssa Cousineau. And, of course, enjoy a pint of North Jetty’s Mexican Chocolate Milk Stout!
Geaux Brewing in Auburn is teaming up for the second year in a row with Gosanko Chocolate for this popular chocolate and beer pairing event. Try festive holiday favorite truffle and fudge options selected by the team at Geaux, and pair with their newly-released Woodinville Brewing Company’s Smoked Porter. Plus, Santa will be on site with chocolates for the kids (and kids-at-heart).
Dec. 11: Photos w/ Santa and Holiday Market
Bring the kids and the dog to Stoup Brewing in Ballard for a happy holiday celebration, including photos with Santa Northwest and Erinn J Hale Photography (pictures are available for digital download the next day). Pick up some candy canes for the kids, and grab gifts for everyone on your list at the holiday market, featuring gifts and crafts from local artisans. It’s festive fun for the whole family!
Dec. 11: Build Your Own Terrarium Ornament
No matter what your skill level, come build a festive winter terrarium ornament while enjoying a pint of beer at Postdoc Brewing! You’ll get everything you need to build your ornament, including live air plants, moss, crystals, miniature trees and festive decorations.
Dec 12: Hopnificent Holiday Ball
Watershed Pub & Kitchen co-hosts this Seattle Humane benefit event with eight local craft beverage producers who will take over the taps — including PBN partner Pike Brewing Company. Come ask Heavy Metal Santa for a puppy AND a kitty for Christmas at the Hopnificent Holiday Ball, and get your picture taken; the event also features on-site puppy and kitten adoptions, holiday food specials and a pick-a-prize raffle. Put on your ugly sweater and toast to the season with the Pike Entire barrel-aged imperial stout!
The Beer Fit Club hosts this unique Ugly Sweater party at Rooftop Brewing Company in Seattle. While most beer and yoga classes serve beer after class, Beer Fit Club gets the party started WHILE you practice! Put on your Christmas worst and enjoy a cup of cheer while getting loose and limber on your mat.
Join Dirty Bucket Brewing Co. in Woodinville for a holiday spectacular, with festive fun and an appearance from beer-drinking Santa! Food will be provided by Swift and Savory, with Locust Cider celebrating next door.
Dec. 19: Beer Trumps Hate for the AFSP
Join PBN partners Bad Jimmy’s and Rooftop Brewing, along with Beer Trumps Hate, to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). This holiday fundraising event will honor those we have lost while contributing to a wonderful charity that works to prevent losing more. All sales of the Cocoa Vanilla Porter will be the dedicated beer, with a portion of the proceeds in sales donated to the AFSP. We hope that you will join us.
Dec. 19: Pints for Kitsap Relay for Life
Co-hosted by Cash Brewing Company and Kitsap Relay for Life, this event will show you how Kitsap Relay for Life is contributing to the fight against cancer. Enjoy a cup of cheer at Cash Brewing Company in Silverdale, Wash., and bring your friends and family, since the brewery will donate $1 of every pint sold during the event.
Dec. 22: Pictures With Santa at Foggy Noggin
Come to Foggy Noggin Brewing for family pictures in the tasting room with Santa! Photos are free with a donation to Northwest Harvest. Kids and pets are welcome!
Dec. 24: 4th Annual Orphan’s Christmas
If you need a place to spend Christmas Eve — or you just need to escape from the relatives — come to Populuxe Brewing for the fourth-annual potluck feast. Bring a dish to share and enjoy seasonal brews that will spread Christmas cheer to even the Grinchiest of hearts! There will also be a raffle of Populuxe swag.
